I'm From Orlando

I don't live there now, but my heart is going out to my friends and those who were hurt or lost in the shooting. I believe this is a result of the strife within our country and the needs of some to control the lives of others. Instead of being a nation united we fight over things as stupid as race, sexual orientation, and religion.

For those that are racist, regardless of what race you are. Where do you get the idea that you are better than any other race? Every race on this planet has individuals that excel far beyond the majority. Every race has those that are violent miscreants. Murder makes you a miscreant. Anyone that puts a race as a whole on a pedestal or under it are wrong.

For those with bias towards the homosexual, why does it matter to you what they do with a willing partner? The Bible may say that it is wrong but you are supposed to be using that as a guide for how you behave. Not as a way to run someone else's life. The bible also says not to judge others and to turn the other cheek. How many of you do that? I know I'm not without fault in many ways.

For the religious and those that are not. Does it really matter if others believe what you do? You should be able to voice your thoughts to others but you can not force someone either way. It should not be an argument. You believe and follow your way. As long as it is not harmful to others, it should not matter. Your beliefs do not justify actions that harm another and you do not get to choose what they believe.

We should be banding together knowing that if any other group takes over our country it could be the end as we know it. We like to say we are free and while we are not completely so we should be working to keep it at least as free as we are. We should be abolishing laws that are unnecessary and outdated with ways to take care of real issues. When dealing with children, professionals in the area will tell you to pick the battles that matter and leave the little ones alone. Our laws should be the same. Don't make gun control tighter because a person with true problems may know well how to hide them. Don't keep making it harder on the honest and most won't take the dishonest route.
